2018 CANNES Best Director
2018 Gdynia Best Film, Best Editing, Best Sound

Winning numerous awards including the Oscar with Ida, Pawel Pawlikowski returns to the ashes of World War II once again. Bringing him the Best Director award at Cannes, Cold War recounts a passionate love story between two people of different backgrounds and temperaments, who are fatally mismatched and yet fatefully condemned to each other. Set against the background of the Cold War in the 1950s in Poland, Berlin, Yugoslavia and Paris; this melancholic black and white film depicts an impossible love story in impossible times. Songs and arrangements in the film including jazz and chansons are by Mazowse and avant-garde pianist Marcin Masecki.

Cold War was declared as Poland's Oscar nominee.

This film is being screened with the support of the General Consulate of Poland in Istanbul.
