2018 CANNES Directors’ Fortnight–SACD Prize

Inspired by 1980s action comedies like Something Wild and Married to the Mob, director Pierre Salvadori’s award-winner at Cannes is a hilarious romantic comedy set in the south of France with Adèle Haenel in the lead (Love at First Fight, Unknown Girl). Widow of a model detective, Yvonne finds out that her late husband is the opposite of being the hero everyone looks up to, but instead a dirty cop who has unjustly caused a man to serve 8 years in prison. When Antoine, this innocent man, is released from prison, Yvonne introduces herself as an escort to approach him, and tries somehow to help this broken man find the balance he has been deprived of in life.
