Acclaimed Hungarian director Kornél Mundruczó's latest feature which debuted at 2021 Cannes Premieres Section is a powerful and poignant drama tracing three generations of a family, from a surreal memory of World War II to modern day Berlin. Kornél Mundruczó had surprised us with Fehér Isten / White God in 2014, and latest with Pieces of a Woman, and now, based on real events and on the personal story of co-scriptwriter Kata Wéber, he tackles cross-generational traumas of the Holocaust though looking towards a more hopeful future.
