It’s the summertime in a French seaside town, and Nour, a 14-year-old teenager, is repainting a corridor in his own middle school during the summer vacation when he hears an aria sung. He meets Sarah by chance, and the opera singer supports him. Nour has both the talent and the passion for music. He lives with his three older brothers in a social settlement, taking turns looking after their mother, who now is in a coma. Despite the difficult family situation, Nour now sees the opportunity to discover new horizons. Joyfully avoiding clichés, this poignant coming-of-age film premiered at Cannes 2021 within the Un Certain Regard section. For his debut, director Yohan Manca was inspired from French comedies and the Italian films of the 60s and the 70s.
