2021 Cannes Queer Plam

Catherine Corsini returns with a fast-paced comedy-drama that criticises the social divide of the French society. Paris is in mayhem during the protests of the Yellow Vests. Raf and Julie, two women on the verge of a breakup, are in the ER of an hospital where they bump into Yann, an injured and furious demonstrator. As the tension outside and chaos inside rise, the hospital is required to shut its doors. Constricted, a long night awaits Yann, Raf, and Julie. The Divide, the latest by Catherine Corsini, who was a guest of the Istanbul Film Festival in 2019 with An Impossible Love, competed for the Palm d'Or at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
