Joachim Lafosse (Continuer / Keep Going, After Love) was initially inspired by his experiences with his bipolar father, who wanted to be a photographer, the script was later crystallized in the work and personality of Belgian visual artist Piet Raemdonck. Premiering at Cannes 2021, the film's soundtrack was composed by Ólafur Arnalds and Antoine Bodson.
